Safe and secure transport
Safety is our first and major strategic objective as a business. Safety concerns with transporting hazardous goods are therefore addressed using an integrated approach by all role players in the NTPL logistics chain. Over the years we have amassed vast experience in managing all aspects of the logistics chain ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of goods.
Some elements in this chain include:
Protecting you against the unknown
NTPL has partnered with accredited agencies to ensure cargo is comprehensively insured. This is done by doing a risk assessment based on every client’s product details, ensuring that even this value-added service is tailored to the needs of each client.
In the event of hazardous cargo being damaged as a result of an incident, NTPL has established stringent emergency control procedures that protect the public and the environment whilst protecting clients’ cargo. These procedures will also be implemented in case of mechanical breakdowns, hijacking and fire incidents.
The transportation of hazardous products requires a specific transport plan. This plan needs to be defined, documented and approved by the regulating body before the shipment receives the “go-ahead”. To mitigate any risk to the environment, this plan is defined outside populated areas, while transportation of highly regulated cargo happens at specified times with a security escort.
This is in line with our main strategic objective viz. Safety; our number one concern when handling hazardous cargo, which is why we have extremely stringent procedures in place that comply with regulations.
