Quality and Regulations
The logistics and transport of all cargo are governed and controlled by a number of national and international regulators. All consignors, consignees, and transporters have to conform to these regulations. At NTPL, we comply with all industry associations, accreditation, regulations, and boast extensive experience in how to comply with all regulations applicable to our business.
To be fully regulated and compliant internationally and domestically to move class 7 radioactive cargo, NTPL currently possesses fifty-seven (57) regulatory licenses regulated by the following regulatory bodies:
NTPL are part of a member and an associate of Industry Bodies and Authorities, namely:
NTPL is ISO 9001:2015 certified; a Quality Management System that underpins all our business processes in line with our commitment to quality customer service.
The transportation of hazardous cargo requires compliance with various local and international regulatory standards, which is why NTPL prioritise these regulations. This, as well as our commitment to environmental preservation and responsible care through our membership with the Chemical Allied Industries’ Association (CAIA) for Responsible Care; a global initiative by the chemical and related industries to raise safety, health, and environmental standards throughout the sector through a comprehensive and harmonised programme of risk assessments, risk management, and risk minimisation. The initiative is based on a set of core ethical principles, so it is much more than just a set of declarations and good intentions.
In addition to these regulations and associations, our training includes standards as set out by the South African Transportation Authorities. We, in turn, educate partners that are also part of NTPL’s logistics chain.
